I had a sharp tongue with my family, though it never extended beyond them to anyone else. I mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "Where are you from seeking forgiveness? Seek forgiveness from Allah seventy times a day."

كان في لساني ذرب على أهلي وكان لا يعدوهم إلى غيرهم فذكرت ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال أين أنت من الاستغفار تستغفر الله في اليوم سبعين مرة
[Its chain of transmission is hasan]Abu Bakr bin Ayyash was followed by Abu Ahwas, Israel, Shubah, and others. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, h: 2458, as did Hakim, 2/457, 1/511, and Dhahabi and others.Abu Mughira was deemed reliable by Ibn Hibban, Hakim, and others, so his hadith does not fall below the level of hasan. It has another route in Nasai's Kubra, h: 10282.
