An Arabi said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "The laws of Islam have become too many for me, so tell me of something I can hold fast to."He replied, "Let your tongue remain moist with the remembrance of Allah."
حدثنا أبو بكر حدثنا زيد بن الحباب أخبرني معاوية بن صالح أخبرني عمرو بن قيس الكندي
أن أعرابيا قال لرسول الله ﷺ إن شرائع الإسلام قد كثرت علي فأنبئني منها بشيء أتشبث به قال لا يزال لسانك رطبا من ذكر الله عز وجل
[Its isnad is hasan] Reference: Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Supplications, chapter on the merit of remembrance, hadith no. 3375, from the hadith of Zayd bin Hubab, through him, and said it is hasan, gharib. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2317, as did Hakim, 1/495, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
