The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not curse the wind, for it is from the breath of Allah's mercy. It brings both mercy and punishment. Rather, ask Allah for its good and seek refuge in Allah from its evil."
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Manners, in the chapter on what one says when the wind blows fiercely, hadith no. 5097, from the hadith of Zuhri through this route. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, hadith no. 1989, as did Hakim, 4/285, and Dhahabi.
