The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Jibreel kept urging me to take care of the neighbor until I thought he would make him an heir."
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع حدثنا يونس بن أبي إسحق عن مجاهد
قال رسول الله ﷺ ما زال جبرائيل يوصيني بالجار حتى ظننت أنه سيورثه
[Its chain is sahih]. Ahmad narrated it, 2/445, from Waki, through this route, and Abu Qatan followed him in narrating it, at 2/305. Busiri graded it sahih.
