Hasan and Husayn came running to the Prophet ﷺ, and he embraced them and said, "Children make one stingy and cowardly."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا عفان حدثنا وهيب حدثنا عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم عن سعيد بن أبي راشد
جاء الحسن والحسين يسعيان إلى النبي ﷺ فضمهما إليه وقال إن الولد مبخلة مجبنة
[Hasan] Ahmad narrated it in 4/172 from Affan, through him, and it is in Musannaf 12/97. Busiri graded it sahih, and so did Hakim in 3/164. See hadith no. 144, and this is a part of it.
