Its chain is daif.Abu Dawud transmitted it in the chapter on hair, in the section on a man braiding his hair, hadith 4191, from the hadith of Sufyan through this route, and Tirmidhi graded it hasan, hadith 1781(b). Bukhari said, "I do not know of Mujahid having heard directly from Umm Hani," and the hadith has another defect as well.
