The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you puts on his sandals, let him begin with the right foot, and when he takes them off, let him begin with the left."
حدثنا أبو بكر حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن محمد بن زياد
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا انتعل أحدكم فليبدأ باليمنى وإذا خلع فليبدأ باليسرى
Muslim reported it, in the chapter on clothing, in the section on the recommendation of putting on the sandal starting with the right foot first, etc., no. 2097, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Ziyad through this route, and it is in Musannaf, 8/226, 227. Bukhari also reported it, no. 5855, and Muslim, no. 2097, through the route of Araj from Abu Hurairah through this route, and it is in Muwatta, 2/916.
