Comment on the chain of transmission, its isnad is hasan. Ahmad narrated it, 2/434, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Amr, through him. It is also in Musannaf, 9/45, and it has corroborating narrations in Bukhari, no. 5774, and elsewhere.
