The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade cauterization, but I had myself cauterized, and I neither prospered nor succeeded.
حدثنا عمرو بن رافع حدثنا هشيم عن منصور ويونس عن الحسن
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الكي فاكتويت فما أفلحت ولا أنجحت
[Sahih] Nasai reported it in Kubra: 4/377, no. 7602, from the hadith of Hushaym, who informed us on the authority of Mansur and Yunus with this wording. Tirmidhi also reported it, no. 2049, through another route from Hasan, and said, hasan sahih. It has a corroborating witness with Abu Dawud, no. 3865, and its isnad is sahih. Its basic narration is found in Sahih Muslim, no. 1226/167.
