The Prophet ﷺ said, "The intensity of fever is from the blaze of Hell, so cool it down with water."
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا عبد الله بن نمير عن عبيد الله بن عمر عن نافع
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال إن شدة الحمى من فيح جهنم فابردوها بالماء
Muslim collected it, in the chapter mentioned above on medicine, hadith 2209, from the hadith of Ibn Numayr, through this same chain.
