The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by two fresh graves and said, "These two are being punished, and they are not being punished for something major. As for one of them, he did not take care to keep himself clean from his urine. As for the other, he used to walk about spreading malicious gossip."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا أبو معاوية ووكيع عن الأعمش عن مجاهد عن طاوس
مر رسول الله ﷺ بقبرين جديدين فقال إنهما ليعذبان وما يعذبان في كبير أما أحدهما فكان لا يستنزه من بوله وأما الآخر فكان يمشي بالنميمة
Bukhari narrated it in the book of Funerals, chapter "The Palm Branch Over the Grave," hadith no. 1361, from the hadith of Abu Muawiya. And Muslim narrated it in the book of Purification, chapter "The Evidence for the Impurity of Urine..." etc., hadith no. 292, from the hadith of Amash, with the same wording.
