The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I had previously forbidden you from drinking nabidh prepared in certain vessels. Be aware that no vessel itself makes anything forbidden. Every intoxicant is forbidden."
حدثنا يونس بن عبد الأعلى حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب أنبأنا ابن جريج عن أيوب بن هانئ عن مسروق بن الأجدع
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إني كنت نهيتكم عن نبيذ الأوعية ألا وإن وعاء لا يحرم شيئا كل مسكر حرام
Sourcing, [sahih] Previously mentioned in brief, no. 3388. Busiri graded it hasan. It has a corroborating witness in Sahih Muslim, Book of Drinks, chapter (6), no. 977 onward, no. 1998, and elsewhere. Ayub's hadith is hasan, and Jabir bin Zayd corroborated him, as found in Ahmad, in the Book of Drinks (12), in the narration of Farqad Sinjari (daif) from him.
