Abdullah bin Umar reported,

Umar came in upon him while he was at his table, so he made room for him at the head of the gathering.Umar said, "In the name of Allah." Then he reached out and took a bite, followed it with another, and said, "I taste the flavor of fat, but it is not the fat of meat."Abdullah said, "Commander of the Faithful, I went out to the market looking for fatty meat to buy, but I found it expensive, so I bought a dirham's worth of lean meat and added a dirham's worth of clarified butter to it, because I wanted my family to enjoy it bone by bone."Umar said, "These two never came together before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ without him either eating one and giving the other in charity."Abdullah said, "Take it, Commander of the Faithful. They shall never come together at my table again without my doing the same."Umar replied, "I will not do it."

عن ابن عمر قال

دخل عليه عمر وهو على مائدته فأوسع له عن صدر المجلس فقال بسم الله ثم ضرب بيده فلقم لقمة ثم ثنى بأخرى ثم قال إني لأجد طعم دسم ما هو بدسم اللحم فقال عبد الله يا أمير المؤمنين إني خرجت إلى السوق أطلب السمين لأشتريه فوجدته غاليا فاشتريت بدرهم من المهزول وحملت عليه بدرهم سمنا فأردت أن يتردد عيالي عظما عظما فقال عمر ما اجتمعا عند رسول الله ﷺ قط إلا أكل أحدهما وتصدق بالآخر قال عبد الله خذ يا أمير المؤمنين فلن يجتمعا عندي إلا فعلت ذلك قال ما كنت لأفعل
