The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of camping on the main roads or praying on them, for they are the refuge of snakes and wild beasts. And beware of relieving yourselves on them, for that is among the things that bring curses."
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى حدثنا عمرو بن أبي سلمة عن زهير قال قال سالم سمعت الحسن يقول حدثنا
قال رسول الله ﷺ إياكم والتعريس على جواد الطريق والصلاة عليها فإنها مأوى الحيات والسباع وقضاء الحاجة عليها فإنها من الملاعن
Sourcing, daif. Imam Ahmad said about Amr bin Salama, "Falsehoods have been narrated from Zuhayr" (Tahdheeb), and the hadith has daif chains in Ahmad (3/305, 381) and elsewhere.
