The Prophet ﷺ said, "When one of you eats food, he should not wipe his hand until he licks it himself or has it licked."Sufyan said, I heard Umar bin Qays asking Amr bin Dinar, "Tell me about Ata's hadith, 'None of you should wipe his hand until he licks it himself or has it licked,' from whom did he report it?"Amr bin Dinar replied, "From Ibn Abbas."Umar bin Qays said, "But he narrated it to us from Jabir."Amr bin Dinar said, "We memorized it from Ata, from Ibn Abbas, before Jabir came to us. Ata only met Jabir in the year he stayed near the Sacred Mosque in Makkah."
