Ibn Majah 3250

[Sahih]. Reported by Abu Dawud, in the Book of Sales, chapter on the price of a cat, hadith no. 3480, and no. 3807, from the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq with the same wording. Tirmidhi said in no. 1280 that it is gharib. Hakim also reported it in Mustadrak (2/34), where Dhahabi commented, "Umar Wad," meaning Umar bin Zayd, is daif (as stated in Taqrib and elsewhere).Muslim narrated from Abu Zubayr, who said, "I asked Jabir about the price of a dog and a cat, and he said, 'The Prophet ﷺ forbade that.'" Eating the flesh of a cat is forbidden, as shown by hadith no. 3233 and others, so the hadith is sahih.
