The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever the sea casts out or whatever is left behind when the tide recedes, you may eat. But whatever dies in it and floats to the surface, do not eat."
حدثنا أحمد بن عبدة حدثنا يحيى بن سليم الطائفي حدثنا إسمعيل بن أمية عن أبي الزبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ ما ألقى البحر أو جزر عنه فكلوه وما مات فيه فطفا فلا تأكلوه
Its chain of transmission is daif. Abu Dawud reported it in the Book of Foods, chapter on eating fish found floating dead, no. 3815, from Ahmad bin Abdah with this wording. I did not find an explicit statement of Abu Zubayr's hearing, no. 395.
