The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the killing of four creatures, the ant, the bee, the hoopoe, and the shrike.
Its chain is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapter on adab, in the section on killing ants, hadith no. 5267, from the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq, with this wording, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, hadith no. 1078. Zuhri narrated it with an "an" formula, as noted previously at hadith no. 707. The hadith has many corroborating narrations, but they are all daif.
