We slaughtered a horse and ate its meat during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا وكيع عن هشام بن عروة عن فاطمة بنت المنذر
نحرنا فرسا فأكلنا من لحمه على عهد رسول الله ﷺ
Bukhari narrated it in "Slaughtered Animals and Game," chapter on nahr (slaughtering by stabbing the throat) and dhabh (slaughtering by cutting the throat), no. 5512, 5510, and no. 5519, from the hadith of Hisham, through him. And Muslim, in "Game and Slaughtered Animals," chapter on the permissibility of eating horse meat, no. 1942, from the hadith of Waki, through him.
