The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not take any living creature as a target."
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع ح و حدثنا أبو بكر بن خلاد الباهلي حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي قالا حدثنا سفيان عن سماك عن عكرمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تتخذوا شيئا فيه الروح غرضا
[Sahih] Narrated by Tirmidhi, in the Book of Hunting, chapter on what has been said regarding the dislike of eating an animal tied up and shot at, hadith no. 1475, through the hadith of Sufyan Thawri with this wording. He said, hasan sahih, though it contains two defects, hadith nos. 162 and 171. It has a corroborating witness in Muslim, hadith no. 1957, and elsewhere, and through this the hadith is confirmed as sahih.
