The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to sacrifice two sheep for a boy and one sheep for a Jariya as the aqiqah.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد بن سلمة أخبرنا عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم عن يوسف بن ماهك عن حفصة بنت عبد الرحمن
أمرنا رسول الله ﷺ أن نعق عن الغلام شاتين وعن الجارية شاة
[Its isnad is hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in the Book of Sacrifices, chapter on what has been said about aqiqah, no. 1513, from the hadith of Ibn Khuthaym, and he said, hasan sahih, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1058.
