The Prophet ﷺ gave him a wild donkey and instructed him to distribute it among the travel companions, who were in the state of ihram for Muharram.
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن يحيى بن سعيد عن محمد بن إبراهيم التيمي عن عيسى بن طلحة
أن النبي ﷺ أعطاه حمار وحش وأمره أن يفرقه في الرفاق وهم محرمون
[Its isnad is daif] Ibn Uyayna used ambiguous transmission wording (an'ana), as noted previously in hadith 2113, and Daraqutni said he erred in it (Ilal* 4/209), and Yaqub bin Shayba said, he made a mistake in it, and what is established from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is that he ate from it, and the sahih version is what Nasai (5/183) narrated from the hadith of Isa bin Talha from Umayr bin Salama Damri from Bahzi, and so on.
