Ayesha reported,

We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Farewell Pilgrimage, arriving at the time of the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever among you wishes to enter ihram for umrah, let him do so. Had I not brought the sacrificial animal with me, I would have entered ihram for umrah."Some of the people entered ihram for umrah, while others entered ihram for hajj. I was among those who entered ihram for umrah.We set out and reached Mecca, but the day of Arafah came upon me while I was menstruating, and I had not yet completed my umrah. I complained about this to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "Set aside your umrah, undo your hair, comb it out, and enter ihram for hajj."I did so. When the night of Hasbah came and Allah had completed our hajj, he sent Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr with me. He had me ride behind him and went out to Tanim, where I entered ihram for umrah. Thus Allah completed our hajj and our umrah, and there was no sacrificial animal, no charity, and no fasting required for that.

عن عائشة قالت

خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في حجة الوداع نوافي هلال ذي الحجة فقال رسول الله ﷺ من أراد منكم أن يهل بعمرة فليهلل فلولا أني أهديت لأهللت بعمرة قالت فكان من القوم من أهل بعمرة ومنهم من أهل بحج فكنت أنا ممن أهل بعمرة قالت فخرجنا حتى قدمنا مكة فأدركني يوم عرفة وأنا حائض لم أحل من عمرتي فشكوت ذلك إلى النبي ﷺ فقال دعي عمرتك وانقضي رأسك وامتشطي وأهلي بالحج قالت ففعلت فلما كانت ليلة الحصبة وقد قضى الله حجنا أرسل معي عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكر فأردفني وخرج إلى التنعيم فأحللت بعمرة فقضى الله حجنا وعمرتنا ولم يكن في ذلك هدي ولا صدقة ولا صوم
