The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel a distance of one day without a male relative accompanying her."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا شبابة عن ابن أبي ذئب عن سعيد المقبري
أن النبي ﷺ قال لا يحل لامرأة تؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر أن تسافر مسيرة يوم واحد ليس لها ذو حرمة
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Ahmad narrated it: 2/236, and Muslim, no. 421/1339, from the hadith of Malik, from Saeed Maqburi, with this wording. Bukhari narrated it, no. 1088, and Muslim, no. 1339, and others besides them, from the hadith of Ibn Abu Dhib, from Saeed Maqburi, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, with this wording.
