I saw Uthman bin Affan sitting in the seating area. He called for water for ablution and performed it, then said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in this very spot perform ablution just as I have performed mine. He then said, 'Whoever performs ablution like this ablution of mine, his previous sins will be forgiven.'" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also said, "But do not be deceived by this."Hisham bin Ammar narrated to us, Abdul-Hameed bin Habib narrated to us, Uzai narrated to us, Yahya narrated to me, Muhammad bin Ibrahim narrated to me, Isa bin Talha narrated to me, Humran narrated to me, from Uthman, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar.

رأيت عثمان بن عفان قاعدا في المقاعد فدعا بوضوء فتوضأ ثم قال رأيت رسول الله ﷺ في مقعدي هذا توضأ مثل وضوئي هذا ثم قال من توضأ مثل وضوئي هذا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه وقال رسول الله ﷺ ولا تغتروا حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا عبد الحميد بن حبيب حدثنا الأوزاعي حدثني يحيى حدثني محمد بن إبراهيم حدثني عيسى بن طلحة حدثني حمران عن عثمان عن النبي ﷺ نحوه
