The Messenger of Allah ﷺ awarded him as spoils the belongings of a man he had killed on the day of Hunayn.
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح أنبأنا سفيان بن عيينة عن يحيى بن سعيد عن عمر بن كثير بن أفلح عن أبي محمد مولى أبي قتادة
أن رسول الله ﷺ نفله سلب قتيل قتله يوم حنين
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales, Chapter on selling weapons during civil strife and other occasions, Hadith: 2100 and elsewhere, and Muslim, in the Book of Military Expeditions, Chapter on the killer's entitlement to the slain enemy's belongings, Hadith: 1751, from the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed with this wording.
