Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dispatched military expeditions, he would say to the one setting out, "I entrust to Allah your religion, your trust, and the final outcomes of your deeds."
حدثنا عباد بن الوليد حدثنا حبان بن هلال حدثنا أبو محصن عن ابن أبي ليلى عن نافع
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أشخص السرايا يقول للشاخص أستودع الله دينك وأمانتك وخواتيم عملك
[Its isnad is daif] The condition of Ibn Abu Layla was mentioned earlier, hadith 854, and he was corroborated by Ibrahim bin Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Umaya (majhul, according to Taqrib) in Tirmidhi, hadith 3442, where he said, "gharib."
