Umar bin Khattab sent us to Kufa and accompanied us as we set out, walking with us until we reached a place called Sirar. He said, "Do you know why I walked with you?"We replied, "Out of respect for our companionship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the right of the Ansar."He said, "No, I walked with you because of something I wanted to tell you, and I wanted you to remember it on account of my walking with you. You are going to a people in whose hearts the Quran murmurs like the bubbling of a cauldron. When they see you, they will stretch their necks toward you and say, 'These are the companions of Muhammad.' So narrate few reports from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I will be your partner in this."

[Its chain is daif]. Mujalid was mentioned previously, no. 11, and Bayan corroborated him in the narration of Sufyan bin Uyayna (Mustadrak: 1/102), but he used the ambiguous form "an" in his transmission, and Hakim graded it sahih (!).
