I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The martyr of the sea is like two martyrs of the land. The one who suffers seasickness at sea is like one writhing in his blood on land. The distance between two waves is like one who traverses the world in obedience to Allah. Allah has entrusted the Angel of Death with seizing souls, except for the martyr of the sea, for Allah Himself takes charge of seizing their souls. He forgives the martyr of the land all his sins except debt, and He forgives the martyr of the sea all his sins, including debt."
