A man died during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and left no heir except a slave whom he had freed, so the Prophet ﷺ gave his inheritance to him.
[Its chain is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Inheritance, Chapter on the Inheritance of Relatives, no. 2905, from the hadith of Amr bin Dinar with this wording, and Tirmidhi graded it hasan, no. 2106. I say, Awsaja was deemed reliable by Abu Zura, Ibn Hibban, and others, and the judgment affirming his reliability is the stronger view. And Allah knows best.
