I fell ill, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to visit me, with Abu Bakr accompanying him, and both of them were on foot. I had lost consciousness, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed wudu and poured some of his wudu water over me. I said, "Messenger of Allah, what should I do? How should I dispose of my property?" Then the verse of inheritance at the end of Surah Nisa was revealed, "And if a man dies leaving neither parent nor child" [Nisa 4:12], and "They ask you for a ruling. Say, Allah gives you a ruling concerning those who leave neither parent nor child" [Nisa 4:176].

مرضت فأتاني رسول الله ﷺ يعودني هو وأبو بكر معه وهما ماشيان وقد أغمي علي فتوضأ رسول الله ﷺ فصب علي من وضوئه فقلت يا رسول الله كيف أصنع كيف أقضي في مالي حتى نزلت آية الميراث في آخر النساء {وإن كان رجل يورث كلالة} و {يستفتونك قل الله يفتيكم في الكلالة} الآية
