The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it, Allah is too just to repeat the punishment on His servant. And whoever commits a sin in this world and Allah conceals it for him, Allah is too generous to return to something He has already pardoned."
[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Tirmidhi narrated it in Iman, chapter "Ma Ja'a La Yazni al-Zani wa Huwa Mumin," hadith 2626, from the hadith of Hajjaj, with the same wording, and he said it is hasan gharib sahih. Hakim graded it sahih, 7/1, as did Dhahabi. Abu Ishaq used ambiguous transmission wording (an'ana), as noted previously, hadith 46, 1039.
