Abu Burda bin Niyar reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one is to be given more than ten lashes, except for one of the prescribed punishments of Allah."

Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Hudud, Chapter: How Much Should Discretionary Punishment and Discipline Be, hadith no. 6848, through Layth, and Muslim transmitted it in the Book of Hudud, Chapter on the Number of Lashes for Discretionary Punishment, hadith no. 1708, through Bukayr, with the same wording.
