Ismail reported,

We came to visit Hasan during his illness until we filled the room, and he drew up his legs. Then he said, "We came to visit Abu Hurairah during his illness until we filled the room, and he drew up his legs. Then he said, 'We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we filled the room, while he was lying on his side. When he saw us, he drew up his legs and said, "Groups of people will come to you after me seeking knowledge. Welcome them, greet them warmly, and teach them."'"He said, "By Allah, we encountered people who neither welcomed us, nor greeted us, nor taught us until we went to them, and even then they treated us harshly."

حدثنا عبد الله بن عامر بن زرارة حدثنا المعلى بن هلال

عن إسمعيل قال

دخلنا على الحسن نعوده حتى ملأنا البيت فقبض رجليه ثم قال دخلنا على أبي هريرة نعوده حتى ملأنا البيت فقبض رجليه ثم قال دخلنا على رسول الله ﷺ حتى ملأنا البيت وهو مضطجع لجنبه فلما رآنا قبض رجليه ثم قال إنه سيأتيكم أقوام من بعدي يطلبون العلم فرحبوا بهم وحيوهم وعلموهم قال فأدركنا والله أقواما ما رحبوا بنا ولا حيونا ولا علمونا إلا بعد أن كنا نذهب إليهم فيجفونا
