The Prophet ﷺ passed away while his armor was pledged to a Jew in exchange for food.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا وكيع عن عبد الحميد بن بهرام عن شهر بن حوشب
أن النبي ﷺ توفي ودرعه مرهونة عند يهودي بطعام
[Its isnad is hasan]: Ahmad narrated it (6:453) from Waki through this route, and Busiri graded it hasan. See hadith 1496 regarding the status of Shahr bin Hawshab, may Allah have mercy on him.
