Its isnad is hasan. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Judgments, Chapter on the Undesirability of Bribery, Hadith: 3580, from the hadith of Ibn Abu Dhib with this wording. Tirmidhi graded it sahih, Hadith: 1337, as did Hakim (4/102–103) and Dhahabi, and Ibn Jarud, Hadith: 0586.
