The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you pay in advance for something, do not transfer it to something else."Abdullah bin Saeed narrated to us, Shuja bin Walid narrated to us from Ziyad bin Khaythama, from Atiya, from Abu Saeed who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and he mentioned the like of it, but did not mention Saad.
حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير حدثنا شجاع بن الوليد حدثنا زياد بن خيثمة عن سعد عن عطية
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا أسلفت في شيء فلا تصرفه إلى غيره حدثنا عبد الله بن سعيد حدثنا شجاع بن الوليد عن زياد بن خيثمة عن عطية عن أبي سعيد قال قال رسول الله ﷺ فذكر مثله ولم يذكر سعدا
Its chain is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Sales, chapter on advance payment being changed, h: 3468, from the hadith of Abu Badr Shujaa, following the first chain. Tirmidhi graded it hasan in Ilal al-Kabir, while Ibn Hajar graded it daif (Talkhis 3/25, and elsewhere). See h: 37 for its defect.
