The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade going out to meet merchants on their way to market in order to buy their goods.

Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales, chapter "The prohibition against the seller withholding milk from camels and cows [before selling them]," etc., hadith no. 2149, from the hadith of Mutamir and others. Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Sales, chapter "The prohibition of meeting traders [outside the market to buy from them before they learn the price]," hadith no. 1518, from the hadith of Sulayman Taymi, with the same wording.
