Someone said to her, "Umm Muiminin, I used to trade with Sham, but I have now arranged a trading expedition to Iraq."She replied, "Do not do that. What is wrong with your usual place of trade? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'When Allah provides one of you with sustenance from a particular source, he should not abandon it until it changes for him or turns against him.'"
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى حدثنا أبو عاصم أخبرني أبي عن الزبير بن عبيد عن نافع قال كنت أجهز إلى الشام وإلى مصر فجهزت إلى العراق فأتيت
لها يا أم المؤمنين كنت أجهز إلى الشام فجهزت إلى العراق فقالت لا تفعل ما لك ولمتجرك فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إذا سبب الله لأحدكم رزقا من وجه فلا يدعه حتى يتغير له أو يتنكر له
[Its isnad is daif] Ahmad narrated it, 6/246, from Abu Asim through him, with some variation. Zubayr bin Ubayd is majhul (unknown), as stated in Taqrib and elsewhere.
