The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "People, fear Allah and be moderate in seeking provision, for no soul will die until it has received its full provision, even if it comes slowly. So fear Allah and be moderate in seeking. Take what is lawful and leave what is forbidden."
حدثنا محمد بن المصفى الحمصي حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم عن ابن جريج عن أبي الزبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ أيها الناس اتقوا الله وأجملوا في الطلب فإن نفسا لن تموت حتى تستوفي رزقها وإن أبطأ عنها فاتقوا الله وأجملوا في الطلب خذوا ما حل ودعوا ما حرم
[Sahih] Reported by Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah, no. 420, through Walid's narration, and Muhammad bin Bakr followed him in this (Mustadrak, 4/2) along with others. It has a hasan corroborating narration in Ibn Hibban (Mawarid), no. 1084, 1085, and elsewhere, and Hakim and Dhahabi graded it sahih.
