The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no vow in disobedience to Allah, and its expiation is the expiation of an oath."
حدثنا أحمد بن عمرو بن السرح المصري أبو طاهر حدثنا ابن وهب أنبأنا يونس عن ابن شهاب عن أبي سلمة
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا نذر في معصية وكفارته كفارة يمين
[Sahih]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Oaths and Vows, chapter on those who considered an atonement due when it involved a sin, hadith 3291, from the hadith of Ibn Wahb, with this chain. Tirmidhi narrated it, hadith 1524, and said, "This is not sound, because Zuhri did not hear this hadith from Abu Salama." But Zuhri explicitly stated that he heard it from Abu Salama in the version recorded by Nasai, hadith 3869.
