I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever revives a sunnah of mine that has been neglected after me will have a reward equal to the reward of all the people who act upon it, without their rewards being diminished in the least. And whoever introduces an innovation that neither Allah nor His Messenger is pleased with will bear a sin equal to the sins of all the people who act upon it, without their sins being diminished in the least."
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى حدثنا إسمعيل بن أبي أويس حدثني
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من أحيا سنة من سنتي قد أميتت بعدي فإن له من الأجر مثل أجر من عمل بها من الناس لا ينقص من أجور الناس شيئا ومن ابتدع بدعة لا يرضاها الله ورسوله فإن عليه مثل إثم من عمل بها من الناس لا ينقص من آثام الناس شيئا
