A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, my master married me to his slave-girl, and now he wants to separate us."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then ascended the pulpit and said, "People, what is the matter with one of you who marries his slave to his slave-girl and then wants to separate them? Divorce belongs only to the one who takes hold of the leg."
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى حدثنا يحيى بن عبد الله بن بكير حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن موسى بن أيوب الغافقي عن عكرمة
أتى النبي ﷺ رجل فقال يا رسول الله إن سيدي زوجني أمته وهو يريد أن يفرق بيني وبينها قال فصعد رسول الله ﷺ المنبر فقال يا أيها الناس ما بال أحدكم يزوج عبده أمته ثم يريد أن يفرق بينهما إنما الطلاق لمن أخذ بالساق
[Its chain is daif] Busiri said, this chain is daif due to the weakness of Ibn Lahia. See hadith no. 330. The hadith has corroborating narrations in Daraqutni and elsewhere. See Nasb Raya, 4/165, and Tabarani, 11/300–301, hadith no. 11800, and others, but none of them are sound. The Quran suffices in place of this hadith and others like it. Refer to Talkhis Mughni on Sunan Daraqutni, 4/37. It has corroborating narrations, both stopped and elevated, and the Quran supports it.
