The Prophet ﷺ said, "When Allah decrees a matter in the heavens, the angels beat their wings in submission to His word, sounding like a chain dragged across a smooth stone. Then, 'when terror is removed from their hearts, they say, "What did your Lord say?" They say, "The truth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great"' [Saba 34:23]. The eavesdroppers among the jinn, positioned one above another, overhear it. The one nearest catches the word and passes it down to the one beneath him, who passes it to the next. Sometimes a shooting star strikes him before he can pass it on, and sometimes he passes it down before being struck, and it is then delivered to the tongue of a soothsayer or sorcerer, who mixes it with a hundred lies. People believe him because of that one word that was truly heard from heaven."
حدثنا يعقوب بن حميد بن كاسب حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن عمرو بن دينار عن عكرمة
أن النبي ﷺ قال إذا قضى الله أمرا في السماء ضربت الملائكة أجنحتها خضعانا لقوله كأنه سلسلة على صفوان ف {إذا فزع عن قلوبهم قالوا ماذا قال ربكم قالوا الحق وهو العلي الكبير} فيسمعها مسترقو السمع بعضهم فوق بعض فيسمع الكلمة فيلقيها إلى من تحته فربما أدركه الشهاب قبل أن يلقيها إلى الذي تحته فيلقيها على لسان الكاهن أو الساحر فربما لم يدرك حتى يلقيها فيكذب معها مائة كذبة فتصدق تلك الكلمة التي سمعت من السماء
