She said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Marry my sister Azza."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Would you really like that?"She answered, "Yes, Messenger of Allah. I am not your only wife, and the one I would most like to share goodness with is my sister."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "But that is not lawful for me."She said, "We have been hearing that you intend to marry Durra, the daughter of Abu Salama."He asked, "The daughter of Umm Salama?"She replied, "Yes."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Even if she were not my stepdaughter raised in my care, she would still not be lawful for me. She is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding. Thuwayba nursed both me and her father. So do not offer me your sisters or your daughters in marriage."Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba narrated to us, Abdullah bin Numayr narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Zaynab bint Umm Salama, from Umm Habiba, from the Prophet ﷺ, a similar report.

لرسول الله ﷺ انكح أختي عزة قال رسول الله ﷺ أتحبين ذلك قالت نعم يا رسول الله فلست لك بمخلية وأحق من شركني في خير أختي قال رسول الله ﷺ فإن ذلك لا يحل لي قالت فإنا نتحدث أنك تريد أن تنكح درة بنت أبي سلمة فقال بنت أم سلمة قالت نعم قال رسول الله ﷺ فإنها لو لم تكن ربيبتي في حجري ما حلت لي إنها لابنة أخي من الرضاعة أرضعتني وأباها ثويبة فلا تعرضن علي أخواتكن ولا بناتكن حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا عبد الله بن نمير عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه عن زينب بنت أم سلمة عن أم حبيبة عن النبي ﷺ نحوه
