Abu Bakr came in to see me while two young Ansari girls were with me, singing the verses that the Ansar had recited to one another on the day of Buath. She said, they were not professional singers.Abu Bakr exclaimed, "The devil's instruments in the house of the Prophet ﷺ?" This was on the day of Eid al-Fitr.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Abu Bakr, every people has a festival, and this is our festival."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا أبو أسامة عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
دخل علي أبو بكر وعندي جاريتان من جواري الأنصار تغنيان بما تقاولت به الأنصار في يوم بعاث قالت وليستا بمغنيتين فقال أبو بكر أبمزمور الشيطان في بيت النبي ﷺ وذلك في يوم عيد الفطر فقال النبي ﷺ يا أبا بكر إن لكل قوم عيدا وهذا عيدنا
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Two Eids, Chapter on the Sunnah of the Two Eids for the People of Islam, no. 952, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Prayer of the Two Eids, Chapter on the Permission for Play That Involves No Sin on the Days of Eid, no. 892, from the hadith of Abu Usama, with the same chain.
