When the verses concerning silver and gold were revealed, the companions asked, "Then what kind of wealth should we acquire?"Umar said, "I will find that out for you."So he hurried on his camel and caught up with the Prophet ﷺ, with me following behind him. He asked, "Messenger of Allah, what kind of wealth should we acquire?"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Let one of you acquire a grateful heart, a tongue that remembers Allah, and a believing wife who helps him in the matters of the Hereafter."
[Hasan] Tirmidhi narrated it in Tafsir Quran, chapter "And From Surah Tawbah," hadith no. 3094, via the route of Mansur from Salim with this wording, and he said, "Hasan." He also said, in summary, "I asked Bukhari, 'Did Salim hear from Thawban?' He said, 'No.'" Ahmad and others said the same.It has corroborating narrations, including one narrated by Ahmad (5/366), and in Atraf Musnad (2958), and from his route Mizzi narrated it in Tahzib Kamal (11/231). It is also found in Sunan al-Kubra of Nasai, and it contains Salm bin Atiya, whom Ibn Hibban deemed reliable. Shuba narrated from him, and Shuba only narrates from those he considers reliable, though Abu Hatim Razi considered him weak.
