The Messenger of Allah ﷺ rejected Uthman bin Mazun's request to live in celibacy. Had he permitted it, we would have castrated ourselves.

لقد رد رسول الله ﷺ على عثمان بن مظعون التبتل ولو أذن له لاختصينا
Bukhari narrated it in the book of marriage, chapter on the disapproval of celibacy and castration, no. 5073, and Muslim in the book of marriage, chapter on the recommendation of marriage for one whose desire has intensified and who can afford its expenses, etc., no. 1402, from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Saad, with the same chain.
