Its isnad is hasan. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Zakat, chapter "On Zakat of Grazing Livestock," hadith 1585, from the hadith of Layth, with this chain. Tirmidhi considered it gharib, hadith 646, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 2335.
