The Prophet's ﷺ zakat collector came to us, so I took him by the hand and read his commission, which stated, "What is separate shall not be combined, and what is combined shall not be separated, out of fear of paying more or less zakat."A man brought him a huge, well-fattened she-camel, but he refused to take it. The man then brought him another one of lesser quality, and he accepted it, saying, "What earth would carry me and what sky would shade me if I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ having taken the finest camels of a Muslim man?"
حدثنا علي بن محمد حدثنا وكيع حدثنا شريك عن عثمان الثقفي عن أبي ليلى الكندي
